Some examples of such objects are barbeques, trees, shrubs, and furniture.

What Is The Proper Way to Install Glass Pool Fencing?

Glass pool fencing is a popular way to block off unwanted animals or wayward children from your pool. However, you want to make sure that your pool fence is installed properly and follows the guidelines provided by the city of Perth. Here are directions so that you can install glass pool fencing Perth at your leisure.

Footing

You will need to create a concrete footing for your glass panels. A good rule of thumb is to make the concrete slabs each one-foot by one-foot. Use chalk to mark where you will be placing the panels.

Attaching Spigots (For Frameless)

Lay each panel on a table or other similar surface. At the bottom of the glass, attach the spigot.Maneuver the glass panels to the spot that you want them on the concrete foot, and trace the outline of the spigot (or posts) so that you can see where to drill into the concrete.

Drilling

Drill a five-inch deep hole that is a pinch larger then the spigot or post mark you traced.

Level

Stand the glass pool fencing up on its drilled home and check to ensure that the glass panel is level. Place the cover plates over the spigots, holding them to the glass with tape.

Attach

Place each panel in its spigot hole, double checking to ensure it's level. When you are satisfied, use small pieces of wood to wedge the spigot into it's rightful place.

Resin

Finally, mix epoxy resin and squirt it into each spigot hole. It will take approximately fifteen minutes to dry (this varies by brand). When it is totally dry, remove the tape and let the cover plates fall over the spigot holes.

When you are done, you will have your own frameless or semi frameless glass pool fencing Perth.

Top 5 Questions Australians Ask about Glass Pool Fencing

When it comes to fencing off your pool, many people want the style and luxury that only glass can give them. The elegance and opulence of shimmering glass opens up the pool area and adds a sumptuousness you can’t achieve in any other way. But is glass the way to go, or is it just a gimmick promoted by pool fencing installation companies? Here are the answers to some of your most frequently asked questions.

1. Is it safe?
Glass is just as safe as any other type of fencing. Thick, toughened glass panels are resilient and strong, able to withstand the elements and to stand up to the treatment of most families.

2. Is it affordable?
Timber fencing is cheaper, but then you have to consider the costs of maintenance. Once glass is in place, it’s there forever. No need to paint, stain or replace panels because they’re impervious to pests, disease, rotting or discolouring.

3. Is it durable?
Glass panels will last forever if treated with care and respect. High quality glass is complemented with sturdy steel fence and gate hardware that won’t rust or rot away, providing years of enjoyment and total peace of mind.

4. Is it practical?
Glass pool fencing is made from glass, which means you can see through it. That gives you the protection you need while at the same time affording uninterrupted views of your surroundings, making it easy to keep an eye on the kids and the pets without having to get out of the water.

5. Is it easy to maintain?
It certainly is. In fact, apart from an occasional wipe, no maintenance is required. Compare that to the work needed to keep a wooden fence looking good and in perfect working order and you’ll soon realise the benefits of those luscious, solid glass panels.

Advice for Installing Semi Frameless Glass Pool Fencing

As you would do when installing any type of glass pool fencing, it’s important to take steps to ensure the installation is done efficiently and carefully. Otherwise you risk wasting time, energy and money on a job that might need doing all over again. Here are some tips that will help make the process smooth and trouble-free.

Getting the Right Glass for the Job
Unlike its frameless cousin, semi frameless glass pool fencing does not need to be quite as sturdy. You still need to get the thickness right, however, which should be no less than 10 mm. Semi frameless glass panels should have a maximum span of 1.6 metres in length to guarantee stability. This provides the perfect level of protection against accidental banging or bumping by excited children or pets, while being strong enough to meet safety regulations adequately.

Adding Frames and Hinges
Frameless glass pool fencing features a series of panels secured to the ground by heavy duty posts. With semi frameless glass, however, panels are joined together at 1.6 metre intervals. Even though thinner glass may be used, some customers prefer the extra security offered by the semi frameless model, with frame posts giving additional support and solidity to each panel.

Hinges need to be chosen at the same time as the glass to make sure they are a good fit. Frames and hinges are both available in a range of finishes and colours to help them blend in seamlessly with glass panels and the surrounding environment.

Get Expert Advice
Installing glass panels around your swimming pool is not a job for the faint-hearted. Your local pool fencing suppliers should be able to offer advice and guidance at every step of the operation, however, making sure you:

·            Purchase quality products that will do the job
·            Have the backup you need when things go wrong
·            Can get replacement parts should the need arise
·            Are able to source products that suit your budget

Advice for Installing Frameless Glass Pool Fencing

To ensure that the installation of frameless glass pool fencing is a one-time only event, the following tips will enable homeowners to carry out the installation carefully and successfully.

Choosing the Dimensions of Glass
When choosing the glass pieces for frameless glass pool fencing, do not choose glass pieces with a thickness of less than 12mm. Glass pieces should have a maximum span of 1.8 metres in length. This ensures that the glass fencing will be able to withstand the weight or force of any excited children or dogs which may want to enter the pool area.

Choosing the Hinges
When buying hinges to connect the glass pieces, ensure that they are of a suitable size for the thickness of glass. Incorrectly fitting hinges can create serious problems, as it is almost impossible to drill holes in toughened glass. Pay careful attention when choosing hinges and ask your local glass pool fencing supplier for advice. The last thing you want to do is have to lug heavy glass pieces around to find matching hinges.

Get Quality Products from Trustworthy Suppliers
To avoid ending up with substandard components for your frameless glass pool fencing, ensure that the retailer offers the following:

·            An adequate level of service
·            Quality of product
·            Excellent product knowledge
·            Ability to provide a layout of the fence
·            Certification of the product
·            Availability of custom parts
·            Price listing with no hidden extras
·            After sales service and advice

This will help you in the event that a component purchased is defective, making it easier to get exchanges or refunds. Also avoid buying components for your frameless glass pool fencing from an unknown supplier offering outrageously low prices. If the price seems too good to be true, the products will probably be of an inferior quality.
